As part of the Commuter Rail Projects in Los Angeles County, The Doran Street Crossing Grade Separation project’s goals are to improve safety and mobility, while maintaining suitable access to existing businesses and surrounding residential areas; Improve safety by separating vehicle and pedestrians from trains at railroad crossings, Maintain easy access for emergency responders to business and residential areas, Minimize disruption to residents, businesses and commuters during construction and enhance mobility and quality of life for the community.

Description of Role:

As Subconsultant, BA was tasked with Utility Notifications and Research for the conceptual engineering phase. BA provided a master list of utility companies along the project site area throughout the life of the project and provided a utility base map in CAD. We provided six (6) conceptual drawings for the suggested alternatives. Each alternative contained a utility investigation of the utilities within the project corridor, as well as an assessment of potential utility relocations.
